Honouring our Indigenous Veterans

The First Nations Education Administrators Association (FNEAA) commemorates National Aboriginal Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 8, 2021 and acknowledges all those who still serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. First Nations, Inuit and Métis honour this day via gatherings and various ceremonies, throughout our schools and communities across the country. FNEAA would like to honour the more than 500 who made the ultimate sacrifice and hold up our Indigenous brothers and sisters who served and continue to serve in Canada and the United States Armed Forces. Indigenous Canadians have been part of our proud military history for over 200 years and have served at a higher rate than any other group in the country.
In this week of remembrance, take a moment to give thanks to those who served to protect all of us from harm, to keep all of us safe, and ensure the future of those yet to come. You are remembered in our hearts, minds, and spirits.
